This two-day course is all about improving your skills. It is the perfect next step following on from your Grade II Certificate Course.

If you’re new to kayaking your Grade II Course is just the beginning. This course will help you to improve both your river reading and paddling skills, with the aim of growing in both confidence and ability over the two days with Ryan. This is a great couple of days on the river and we cannot recommend it enough.

Trip Details

Day One – Gorge Bridge and Woodstock Paddle – 9am till approx 4pm

Day One focuses on improving your boat control, boat placement, forward paddling and river reading skills. We will be helping you to improve your entry and set up for bluffs, wave trains as well as helping you to gain further control of your boat on the river. This is a crucial skill to have in the Gorge. The morning will see Ryan taking you through a series on drills and techniques to help improve these areas. You can expect to see some whiteboard theory before we get started. The afternoon will bring a lunch break before we head up to Woodstock for a 14km paddle back down to the Gorge Bridge. pastedGraphic.png

Day Two – Woodstock Bluff and Woodstock Paddle – 9am till approx 4pm

Day Two will see us heading up to Woodstock for the morning. We will be consolidating the skills we worked on yesterday. Expect to be feeling a lot more confident in the boat today and perhaps pushing yourself a little harder. The morning will be spent with a bit more time on the whiteboard then some video analysis so you continue to focus on improving your confidence and lines.  Then a lunch break before a second paddle from Woodstock down to the Gorge Bridge. This is your opportunity to put everything you have learnt over the past two days into practice and ending the course on a high.
