Overview
The Firebolt is Ruahine Kayak’s most popular intermediate-level multisport kayak.
As the successor to the very popular Opus, it's proven to be extremely popular with people wanting to take their paddling up to that next step up. Designed to have the best compromise of balance and speed, it has a fine cutting bow, lower foredeck, and wider rear deck for stability. This basically means it’s fast on the flat and stable in the rough stuff. It also includes a unique paddle recess which has been specifically designed to aid with smoother paddle entry.
Features
- Ability Level: Intermediate
- Paddler Size: 65-95kg and up to 6'5" tall
- Width: 450mm
- Length: 5.9m
- Weight: Composite approx 13kg
Ordering
Ruahine works on a 4-6 week turnaround. In many cases we will be able to supply a kayak before this time period is up however, these are a hand-made product so they do take time to produce and we often have multiple orders in the system.
Custom Colours
Composite Colours – all of Ruahine's composite kayaks can have either an exposed hull (clear gelcoat) to show off the beauty of the fibres or white. The deck can be chosen from a selection of colours. We prefer to have this coloured rather than clear gel coat to prevent the sun from heating it up too much but if you wish they can also do the top with a clear coat.
Please send us an email after purchase with your custom boat and colour requests and we will let you know any price adjustments. info@topsport.co.nz

Weather & Flow Conditions
Safety requirements may force us to cancel your kayak course, gorge trip or mountain run for a number of reasons (eg. bad weather, river flow level, wind, etc).
If we need to cancel your trip we will contact you as soon as possible. This may be in the days leading up to your trip or in the morning of the trip. If this happens you will be provided with a code to rebook your trip at no charge on another date that suits.
When travelling from out of town PLEASE make sure you book flexi flights and accomodation as none of our trips are ever guaranteed to run. We can only operate our trips when weather and river conditions are safe to do so.
In exceptional circumstances we may need to cancel your trip after travelling to the start location or even part-way through your trip as conditions change. Typically we decide prior to leaving town but sometimes we make the extra effort to make an important trip take place e.g race week and overseas clients. If this happens there is a minimum cost of $100 pp. Our standards are to cancel are trip using the latest weather and flow resources BEFORE we leave town but occasionally the forecast is incorrect and we do not know until arriving at the start location.
